OVERVIEW
Keith Valley Middle School in the Hatboro-Horsham School District partnered with Diversified Storage Solutions and SchraderGroup Architecture to create a flexible, multi-use library space. Using Spacesaver cantilever carts with laminate tops and end panels, the mobile shelving units were built off-site for efficiency, coordinated with the FFE color palette, and delivered fully assembled to the site. The solution provided the school with functional, adaptable storage that meets budget requirements, maximizes usable space for activities beyond traditional library use, and offers a cost-effective alternative to built-in shelving, enhancing both organization and learning flexibility.

DSS provided a custom solution using Spacesaver cantilever storage carts with laminate tops and end panels, featuring concealed casters for a clean, streamlined appearance. To reduce costs and improve efficiency, this unique approach also included the carts built off-site and delivered fully assembled, all while integrating colors from the FFE package to ensure cohesive aesthetics. The project was carefully coordinated with the general contractor, eliminating the need for specialized millwork and streamlining installation, right on-site.

The results exceeded expectations. The off-site fabrication process allowed DSS to deliver the project more efficiently, while the mobile carts created a multi-use library space that can be easily reconfigured for different activities. The solution provided an effective, lower-cost alternative to traditional built-in shelving, meeting all storage requirements and enhancing overall usability. This project highlights DSS’s ability to design innovative, flexible storage solutions that balance budget, aesthetics, and functionality in learning spaces, libraries, and beyond.
